Kinglake National Park offers a tranquil escape with well-maintained walking trails ranging from short 500-metre strolls to 7-kilometre hikes through scenic forest. The park features excellent barbecue and picnic facilities, including some undercover tables, making it ideal for weekend getaways. Mason Falls serves as a highlight, accessible via peaceful woodland trails where lyrebirds can be heard singing. The spacious picnic areas accommodate multiple family groups, with convenient toilet facilities and ample parking. While the waterfall flow varies seasonally, the beautiful green environment provides year-round appeal.

You should first check with Nillumbik council about the rules and restrictions.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
